Scotch on the Rocks | Scotch on the Road ,London, United Kingdom

Jun 2009 – London, United Kingdom

Scotch on the Rocks was an annual ColdFusion developer gatherings in Edinburgh, and Scotch On the Road across Europe, of web technologists, bringing together some of the brightest minds from across the globe.

Scotch on the Rocks:

Since January this year I’ve been debating this decision. As many of you know, I have this conversation with myself every year, but this time it was different.

I’ve been running the conference for 10 years now. I came up with the idea back in 2004, and ran the conference for the first time in May 2005. Aside from Edinburgh, we also took the conference on the road in 2009 visiting Munich, Zurich, Milan, Amsterdam, Brussels, London, and Manchester. In 2010, we also held the conference in London before bringing it home to Edinburgh in 2011.

But it’s time for something new.

So that’s it. The end of Scotch on the Rocks.

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank the people who’ve helped over the years. Without you, Scotch on the Rocks wouldn’t have ran this long.

Rob Parkhill. Matt Gifford. Thomas Neill. Guust Nieuwenhuis. Kev McCabe. Stephen Moretti. Andy Bellenie. Justin Mclean. Nick Watson. Claude Englebert. Gert Franz.

Adobe. Railo. Intergral. Blue River/Mura. Centinated. Mozilla. Academy Class. Pixl8. Ortus Solutions. SwarmOnline. BladeRunnerJS. Flint Hosts. UKFast. GFI. CMD. FreeAgent. Bluegras. Mandrill. Prisma-IT. Paymill. Hostelbookers. Firstserv. InterAKT.

All our speakers (there’s really way too many of you to mention, but thank you).

And to everyone who has attended the conference since we first started in 2005.

And finally, my wife. Thank you for putting up with my hair brained idea, and for getting involved in the running of SotR. You made so much possible behind the scenes and if it weren’t for you we probably wouldn’t have made it past 2007.

Over. Finished. Done. Gone. Out.
